Privacy and demo terms

This is a working prototype, published so people can try it. Please read this before uploading anything.

Do not upload anything genuinely confidential.

This is a demonstration environment, not a production service. It carries no uptime guarantee, no formal security certification, and no contractual confidentiality obligation from Istacap Inc. Use a sample file, or a real file you would not mind losing.

What this demo collects

  • Files you upload. Stored so the demo can show you the cleaned version and serve it to a recipient link you create.
  • Recipient details you type — email address and optional organisation — so the protected link can be addressed.
  • Access events. When a link is created, accepted, opened, or revoked, with the name a recipient gives when accepting.
  • A one-way hash of the network address of visitors. We record that an address was seen; we do not store the address itself and cannot recover it.

What it does not do

  • No advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics.
  • No sale or sharing of any data with anyone.
  • No account passwords — none are collected or stored.
  • No email is sent. Share links are shown on screen for you to copy.

Retention

Demo data is cleared periodically and may be deleted at any time without notice. Uploaded files, disclosure links, and demo accounts should be treated as temporary. You can revoke any link you created from your dashboard, which stops it opening immediately.

Where it runs

Hosted in Microsoft Azure, Canada Central region, so data stays in Canada. Traffic is encrypted in transit; the database is encrypted at rest.

For the production service, this notice is replaced by a lawyer-drafted privacy policy and terms of service under Ontario law, with a documented retention schedule and breach-response procedure. That work is scheduled and tracked in the project's compliance checklist — it is a precondition of accepting real members, not of running this demo.
